Catering To Your Core

Hardcore Waterfowl’s new Softshell Vest warms your torso and caters to wide swinging shotguns.

In the past, waterfowl hunters were forced by necessity to adapt regular work clothes for days afield. Your grandfather and great-grandfather simply did not have a choice – board stiff, ill-fitting canvas in solid colors was standard uniform. Consequently, these DIY hunters often ended up cold, wet, and miserable, despite wearing the best garments available at the time.

Imagine trying to swing a shotgun while wearing what amounted to a cardboard box. There is no question many-a-greenhead escaped the roaster due to these cumbersome threads.

Eventually, technology caught up with demands, and today’s waterfowlers have more outerwear options than ever. While maximizing fabric-tech is a no-brainer, critical aspects of the ideal modern hunting garment are often skipped: Comfort, mobility, protection, concealment…and value.

Hardcore Waterfowl not only establishes its gear on the finest fabrics; they pay equal attention to all-around performance in the field and marsh. The new Softshell Vest is a stellar example of Hardcore’s mission to cover all the bases.

Catering To Your Core

The contemporary Softshell Vest is windproof, breathable, and highly water-resistant, while simultaneously sanctioning mobility and providing comfort not always associated with hunting clothes.

Its outer shell features a DWR treated four-way stretch, smooth ripstop polyester fabric that easily deflects sticky things such as burrs and cattail fluff. The Softshell Vest’s super comfortable grid fleece lining offers ideal thermoregulation, too, while producing less wear on base layers.

Catering To Your Core

The vest features Lycra bound collars and armholes for non-binding movement against base layers to promote mobility. The 3.5-inch stand up collar and cinchable waist reduce heat loss while deterring chill and moisture. Fleece lined handwarmer and left chest pockets feature invisible, flapless zippers, while the slightly trimmer fit won’t interfere with shotgun butts or your face when leaning down or working birds.
